LONGING AS WINGS FOR WIND

Longing as wings for wind
My vessel seeks refuge
in her gifted hands.

Radiant warmth of Grandfather's fire
Sacred space, a cocoon
amongst layers of cotton.
Safe and nurturing ways
evoke memories of a peace
long forgotten.

Layer upon layer, wave upon wave
Deepening ever so surely,
effortlessly I surrender
to the somatic bliss—

My body sings out "more of this" "more of this."

Anointing my soul—
As precious oils allow
the gently flowing strokes
of her loving intention
to soften the edges
Left by a world I shall not mention.

Sometimes I cry, as
My Spirit lets go of its
trusted tether

And remembers
to fly.
